A five-day state-level youth training workshop for girls organized by the Department of Youth Services concluded today at Panjab University, Chandigarh. Punjab Youth Development Board Chairman Parminder Singh Goldy distributed certificates to 115 girls who participated in the workshop.
Parminder Singh Goldy said that the State Government under the leadership of Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann is continuously working for the empowerment of the youth. He said that on the instructions of the Chief Minister, the department under the leadership of Youth Services Minister Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer is making a youth policy. He said that such workshops play an important role in the personality development of youth.
On this occasion, a special lecture was given by National award winner Shreya Maini and the girls participating in the workshop were informed about the criteria for getting the National award. Information about the activities required for the National Award was also shared. Apart from this, during the 5-day workshop, motivational lectures, merit and demerits of social media, vocational courses, literary activities, moral responsibilities and values were given to the girls by other eminent experts. On this occasion, valuable input regarding the activities and programs conducted by the department was shared with the youth.
On the last day of the workshop, the department also organized a one-day tour to Sukhna Lake, Rock Garden, Rose Garden and other famous places of Chandigarh through the Hop-on-Hop Bus of Chandigarh Tourism Department.
Youth Services Department’s Assistant Directors Kulwinder Singh and Rupinder Kaur and officials of the Youth Welfare Department of Panjab University Chandigarh were also present on this occasion.
